My perspective and techniques are vastly different from other pastoral counselors, life coaches or massage therapists. I strive to be open minded; realizing that we are all created uniquely different, and that there are many different healing modalities available to benefit all of us amazingly different human beings! My dream and my purpose is to facilitate healing, wellbeing and the discovery of personal peace and happiness to all who are guided to seek my help. Having studied various theologies, ideologies and healing modalities, I have incorporated many different disciplines and techniques that I believe are the most useful tools in the coaching/counseling process and bodywork arena. I am thrilled and honored to assist you in your quest for a more healthy, peaceful, fulfilling life!
Why a Minister?
Why a minister? I struggled with the concept for a long time. I was raised in a traditional Christian environment. I was blessed to have strong Christian women teach and guide me - I developed a strong unshakable faith in God. As comforting and encouraging as I found my faith, I felt that there was much more that I was missing. I disagreed with some of the teachings, and disagreed with many of the attitudes and views much more. So my journey began.
I have spent the last 13+ years researching other religions and philosophies. I have read countless books, sought out sources, prayed, and eventually determined that there IS more. Much more. More happiness, love, forgiveness, understanding, and PEACE.
I believe that God is Love, the universal creator of ALL existence. I believe that God, who created all human beings, would not do that without creating more than one path back to Him/Herself. I believe that each person has the right and the responsibility to discover their own path back to the Creator and also, that no person has the right to judge another’s path. Whether it be Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islamic, or any other spiritual path, your soul recognizes it’s path when it hears YOUR truth... your path to Love.
In deciding to go into the ministry, I researched many seminaries. I could not find one, that when it came time to be ordained, I could claim to believe what would be required at ordination. I absolutely refused to stand before God and take an oath with any personal untruth in it. I continued to search and seek guidance, and eventually, I found the Alliance of Divine Love Ministries, Inc.
The ministerial program with the Alliance of Divine Love Ministries, Inc was a perfect fit for me. I did not have to believe in any one path or dogma. I was free to express my own views without fear of reprisal. I could respect others viewpoints without claiming them as my own. Most importantly, I could be ordained without claiming any beliefs that I found untrue for me.
My second hurdle in choosing to be a minister was my fear that I was not "good" enough. I am not perfect - FAR from it as a matter of fact! Most people who know me probably have a hard time thinking of me as a minister. A counselor yes - a minister no. I am just a regular person. I really had to do a lot of praying and soul searching to make peace with the idea that becoming a minister is what God wanted me to do.
My life long dream has always been to help people. I LOVE to make a positive difference for others. To make someone smile, give comfort, lend a hand, provide for a need, help them to believe in themselves, find peace that is my dream. I realized that becoming a minister provided the path to my happiness, the fulfillment of my dream. I believe that I am doing what God put me here to do, and if I do it imperfectly it is better than not doing it all. In becoming a minister, I became a willing instrument for Love, and it is my prayer that much Love will flow through me.
